The story behind this meme
A trick of camera timing appeared to show a president placing a medal around his own neck, and the internet immediately understood the assignment. The template celebrates self-awarded excellence. The two labels name the humble achievement and the ceremony granted to it, like giving yourself a trophy for answering one email. It works best when the accomplishment is real but the celebration is absurd. Everyone deserves recognition, and this format lets you grant it to yourself, no committee required. Medal sold separately.
