The story behind this meme
After winning a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics, a gymnast stood on the podium with a scowl that traveled around the world. Her unimpressed face became the official grade for anything disappointing. The two labels name the thing being judged and its failure to impress, though often the face alone carries the review. It works for mediocre miracles, like a vending machine that dispenses the wrong snack correctly. Perfectionism, briefly and memorably, found its face. Athletes everywhere recognized the expression.

Classroom-safe & how teachers use it
An Olympic podium moment, safe for every classroom. Teachers can use it for evaluation lessons, where students rate sources or presentations and must justify scores beyond a scowl. It fits discussions about sportsmanship and expressing disappointment with grace. Students can also caption it for expectations versus reality in science experiments, which teaches honest observation.
