The story behind this meme
"This Is Fine" comes from a webcomic page drawn by artist KC Green in 2013. It shows a cartoon dog sitting in a burning room, coffee in paw, calmly saying the famous two words while everything melts around him. Readers adopted it as the perfect picture of denial — smiling through a disaster that clearly is not fine at all. The formula needs two boxes: the calm claim in the first, the obvious catastrophe in the second. Use it whenever life keeps burning while you pretend otherwise.

Classroom-safe & how teachers use it
A cartoon house fire sounds dark, but the humor is gentle and the image is classroom-safe. It works well for teaching understatement and irony in English class, or for discussing how people respond to bad news in health and social studies. Students can also label the fire with a real problem and the dog with a common excuse, then debate better responses.
