The story behind this meme
The star of this template is a black-and-white strongman from over a century ago: handlebar mustache, crossed arms, and a stare that has never tasted doubt. Around 2012 he became Overly Manly Man, a character who treats every modern comfort as a personal insult. The formula is a two-line refusal: the top line describes something normal people enjoy, like blankets or medicine, and the bottom line shows the strongman's furious alternative. He does not catch colds; he negotiates with them. The joke mocks a certain brand of toughness — the kind that turns small choices into identity — and that is why it still lands. Absurd masculinity is always in season.

Classroom-safe & how teachers use it
An old-timey photo makes this safe for school. Teachers use it to discuss exaggeration and character voice: students write boastful monologues, then rewrite them sincerely. Health classes use him to poke gentle fun at 'toughing out' illness instead of asking for help. The mustache alone starts the discussion every time. Kids love imitating the pose.
