The story behind this meme
Borrowed from one of music's most animated superstars, this template captures the universal posture of gossip: leaning in, hands moving, story loading. The caption format is an oral tradition in two boxes. The top box is the setup, delivered as so there is this, and the bottom box is the tale itself, usually mundane, always told like breaking news. It works for group projects, family drama, and cafeteria politics, because the gap between the delivery and the content is the entire performance. Everyone has a friend who tells stories exactly this way.
Caption ideas
- Study mode: So there is this group project / Nobody has read the book, including me
- Work: So there is this new intern / He knows the software better than the manager
- Family: So there is this family group chat / It has more drama than television
Classroom-safe & how teachers use it
A musician mid-story with nothing unsafe in the frame. Teachers can use it to teach narrative hooks, oral storytelling traditions, and how delivery changes a story. Students can practice telling a mundane school event as if it were a drama, then identify what techniques made it exciting. The performance skills transfer to presentations.
