The story behind this meme
At the 2012 London Olympics an American gymnast landed a vault so difficult it had once seemed impossible, took silver after a tiebreaker, and then made a face that outlived the medal: lips pursed, eyes unimpressed, expectations unmet. The podium scowl became a viral reaction image within hours, visited by everyone from ordinary users to a president. The template remains the purest expression of high standards: excellence achieved, still not impressed. The two boxes set the bar: the impressive thing on top, the verdict below. Silver never sparkled so skeptically.

Classroom-safe & how teachers use it
A real athlete's real expression - safe, and a masterclass in expectations. Teachers use it to discuss standards, perfectionism, and grace: when is 'not impressed' motivating, and when is it unfair to ourselves? Students caption achievements and rate them kindly. Sports-psychology units love this face; so does anyone who has ever taken second.
